Hi all,
well I finally got google to come up with results for paltalk scripts by typing paltalk scripts for jaws, and it led me to jaws scripts for paltalk 9.0, for jaws 6 and above. well I wasn't sure they would do anything, but they had a self installer so I tried it. when i went to autocompile, it said thescripts couldn't be compiled, so i thought, oh well, didn't hurt anything atleast. so i opened up paltalk, and the strangeest thing, on my pal list right above where the offline pals are listed, it said, press enter to close friends or press enter to close offline. and when i went in to a room, right along with user names, it said, not talking, for the ones who weren't talking. can you imagine what would've happened if the scripts actually worked? lol. jaws has never told me to press enter to open or close friends, or told me who wasn't talking in rooms. I mean they do that and the scripts couldn't even be compiled.

I think, when they said that the scripts couldn't be compiled they meant that all the scripts couldn't be compiled.
So, great, you have the PalTalk scripts at least partially installed.

I suspect that, while the scripts did not compile upon installation, a pre-compiled version was among the files the installer copied to your system.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it...and congratulations.

thanks jim, I guess they're doing ok considering all were not compiled. after all, they're scripts for 9.0 and i have version 9.1, so as long as the version isn't really old, i guess they are capable of working partially.

What version of jaws? I think there's your problem.
